Gary Collins has been sentenced to 120 days in prison after pleading no contest to charges of drink driving (DUI).

The U.S. TV star was arrested in Montecito, California at the end of January (09) after police spotted him driving a motor home erratically.

The 70-year-old was found to be almost four times over the legal alcohol limit and charged with driving under the influence.

Collins entered a no contest plea at a hearing at California's Santa Barbara Superior Court on Monday (02Mar09), with the judge ordering him to spend 120 days behind bars.

He will also have his vehicle impounded and his licence suspended for three years.

Collins can now apply to have his jail sentence reduced to house arrest with an electronic monitoring device, according to Radar Online.
