Nerd Block are a hugely successful mystery box subscription service, and fans are now given the option to subscribe to their latest box - Arcade Block.

Pegged as the 'video game mystery box' that's delivered to your door every month, licensed merchandise hand-picked by the Nerd Block team is put together after a series of in-house testing.

So, what did the first month's box offer? Something for every gaming geek out there, it would seem.

You're first greeted with a brand new addition to your clothing collection, and to kick things off there's Link staring up at you, our very own 'Hero Of Time'. It's a very nice starting item and definitely one you'll be wanting to keep!

Next up I noticed what is likely to be this month's 'star' item, the Tomb Raider Lara Croft bust. It's a heavy and well-crafted piece of merchandise - the bow string is actually string and she looks a little roughed up from her travels. Again, a fantastic little piece.

My Super Mario themed backpack buddy came in the form of Shy Guy, but there are many to collect and others have received differing characters from the Super Mario universe.

A retro style Pac-Man pen shows two of the game's ghosts chasing the hero as you tilt your pen up and down - definitely distracting but definitely awesome! Warning - don't use it at work or places of education! You'll be playing with your pen more than getting down to business!

The Tetris ice cube tray is again a fantastic touch, and with some food colouring or juice you could make different coloured ice cubes to show off at parties to your friends.

Gears of War is also given a nod as weighty replica cog tags round out the box.

All in all, Nerd Block have done a fantastic job of ensuring that Arcade Block is worth its money and more still. It's definitely a subscription I'll be sticking with.
