One Track Mind

Do you ever see pictures in the clouds? Or faces in the grain of a wooden door? Or find yourself smiling at the odd shape of a potato?

Tony Davidson does. In fact, he sees something quite specific all around him and after talking to a lot of other men, he thinks he’s not alone.

One-Track Mind has been described by Jenny Éclair as, 'A lovely book of boob-like things of all shapes, sizes and surprises.'

“One of the most appealing things is the variety of shapes, colours and sizes they come in.” Rory

As a Creative Director Tony Davidson collects images and is forever taking photographs to inspire ideas. Over the last 10 years, amongst other things, he has found a great deal of objects that remind him of breasts. To make sure he wasn’t alone in this, he started interviewing other men and it turns out that a lot of them saw breasts in the most unusual places too - some so subtle in fact that to the untrained eye at least, they require real scrutiny.

“Pierced nipples are not my idea of fun. It’s like adding fluffy dice to an Aston Martin.” Brian

Tony decided to publish the book after the death of his father: “I didn't intend to produce a book. It was only when my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer that I got the urge to write it. My dad died the same year following a battle with prostate cancer. Doing the book gave me a positive outlet as a result of his death. Prostate cancer is one of the biggest killers of men in the UK, and yet it hasn't had the same funding as breast cancer research. That's why I’ve committed to splitting profits of the book between both breast and prostate cancer research. After all, men should spend a little less time checking women out and more time checking themselves.”

The result is an amusing collection of photographs and revealing quotes. So, if you’re struggling to think of a gift for a man in your life or simply like looking at objects of everyday life in a new way, this might be just the book you’re looking for.
