Bluffing, fibbing, call it what you want - one thing’s clear, we’re all doing it! All day, every day to get what we want and where we want to be in life.

According to a new poll almost three quarters of us bluff our way through life, for a bigger gain.

Well over one in ten of us have bluffed our way into a new job, a similar amount have used their bluffing skills to get a date, and a free meal, while a quarter have got into swanky bars and clubs by exaggerating their credentials on the door.

A fifth of us admit to bluffing our way through job interviews, whilst an astounding 40% of women admit they bluff about their weight, and a quarter of men about their sporting ability.

Women are the worst bluffers, as more than a third admit that they are most likely to do so when it comes to impressing their partners, according to new research commissioned by G Casinos to mark the forthcoming Grosvenor UK Poker Tournament.

Despite the stereotype that the British are too reserved to haggle, a whopping 37% of the nation surveyed said they bluff for bargains when shopping.

But are we any good at it? Well two thirds of us seem to think we are masters of the bluff. That’s probably not surprising considering over 40% of us are not confident of spotting a fellow bluffer.

This is great news when it comes to the poker fans amongst us as the game is renowned for a cunning poker face when it comes to beating the competition.
