Blueberries and strawberries the best healthy option to avoid high blood pressure

A team of scientists from UEA and Harvard studied the diets of both men and women and found berries lowered the level of blood pressure.

Their research which has been going for fourteen years, discovered eating a portion of blueberries at least once a week lowered the chances of getting high blood pressure (also known as hypertension) by 10%.

The lead author Professor Aedin Cassidy of the Department of Nutrition at UEA's Medical School said: "Our findings are exciting and suggest that an achievable dietary intake of anthocyanins may contribute to the prevention of hypertension."

Anthocyanins are found mainly in blueberries strawberries, blackcurrents, raspberries and blood oranges all of which are also high in anti-oxidents. They even taste good!

Eating fresh fruit and vegetables can eliminate impurities within the body because of the vitimins that is packed in them.

If your taste in healthy food is limited, find out what fruit you like best. Fruit will flush out the bad toxins in your body.

It's even a good idea to eat a piece of fruit after a night on the town, so you feel refreshed and less hungover.

So there is a bright side to eating healthy foods after all.
