Research shows that the average woman puts on 5lb over the Christmas and New Year holiday.

But rather than wait until January to shed that extra flab, increasing numbers of stars and women worried about their figures are taking action BEFORE the festive break.

Harley Street clinic LoveLite has seen a 33% rise in bookings for its non-invasive liposuction Lipoglaze as women get ready for Christmas.

The idea is that you zap the fat on your muffin tops or flabby tummy now so you’ll look fantastic and have ‘an insurance policy’ while you enjoy yourself over the break.

Reality TV star Nicola McLean has already tried out this lunchtime liposuction in prepartion for the Christmas break.

Our pictures show the mum-of-two having Lipoglaze on her muffin tops.

Nicola, 32, said: “We all need a bit of help shifting those stubborn areas of fat – even if, like me, you eat well and exercise regularly.

“I decided to have the treatment now because I know with two hungry young boys and a footballer husband, there is going to be so much pigging out at Christmas.

“If I get working on my muffin tops now I’ll have a bit of a ‘Get Out Of Jail Free Card’ and won’t be so guilty if I put on a few pounds at Christmas.

“I know that if I do put on a few pounds  my muffin tops will only go back to the old shape because Lipoglaze has made them much smaller.

“I guess you could call it my little ‘insurance policy.’”

Lipoglaze removes stubborn areas like muffin tops and bingo wings by freezing fat cells in one 60-minute session.

It is a new technique increasingly popular with both men and women who want a quick beauty fix- and don’t want to go under the knife.

Donnamarie McBride, co-founder of LoveLite, said: “We have found that November and December have become really busy periods.

“Lots of women know that they are going to put on a few pounds over Christmas and they want to take action now rather wait till the New Year.

“They know if they look fantastic before Christmas it is an incentive to go easy on the turkey and the pigs-in-blankets.

“We loved working with Nicola and other celebrity clients.”

Other celebrities who have tried Lipoglaze include Lizzie Cundy, 42,who had treatment on her tummy and Simon Webbe, 34, and Antony Costa, 31, from the boy band Blue who both toned up their six pack.

The Lipoglaze cyrongenic machine works by first gently heating and then rapidly cooling the target area.

This causes the fat cells to crystallise and permanently destroys up to a third of fatty deposits per session.

The body then naturally eliminates this waste tissue over the next few weeks.

The machines are being sold by LoveLite to salons and spars throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and America.

Lipoglaze is available in a new machines, Lipoglaze Tria (corr), suitable for aesthetic clinics, salons and spas, and Lipoglaze Lite - perfect for mobile beauticians and salons.

Donnamarie added: “We created the smaller machine in response to demand from the industry. Large salons and clinics still love the original Lipoglaze machine because it does have more power.”
