Nichola Joss gives us her best tips

Angelina Jolie and Cate Blanchett have amazingly velvety clear skin

Nichola Joss, Braun and Venus Beauty Therapist, has a celebrity clients list thatr eads like Oscar nominations, she's worked with some big names in the business.

Cate Blanchett, Kate Moss, Kate Winslet and Gisele are just a small selection - so she knows what she's talking about.

We caught up with her, to find out what her beauty must-haves are and to find out who really does have the best skin in the business.

How does your beauty regime change in the winter? What other things might you be doing, or not doing?

It’s all about moisture! Keep skin exfoliated as it tends to dehydrate with central heating and colder weather. Skin needs to be soft and supple which helps with absorption of products, use oils for protection and nourishment and also wear SPF, the winter sun is as damaging as the summer sun. Same sun, same damage.

What's your favourite look for this season? Any tips on how we can achieve this?

I say keep it festive!! Go for Red lip and nails and a little dusting of sparkle always lifts your make up and gives that fun element, also there are amazing nail trends like minx and nail rocks, fab seasonal foils. Skincare with illuminators will also lift skin and make it appear glowing and radiant healthy and also festive with the light radiant luminator making skin beautiful and contoured and 3D.

What three beauty products couldn't you live without?

Just three? Ok, then it has to be the Braun Silk-épil 7 Dual epilator, which keeps my legs silky smooth for longer. It has an integrated Venus razor blade which exfoliates the skin leaving the perfect base for a moisturising cream. As I said it’s all about the moisture!

For my face, I love Terry Rose Serum, it’s perfect hydration for the skin and helps protect against premature aging. Finally a beauty essential tool in my beauty kit bag which I couldn’t live without (especially working with celebrities ahead of a red carpet event) are Venus Ocean Disposables. There is no time on the red carpet for fuzzy legs, you will get caught out so these disposable razors allow me to quickly touch up the skin before anyone notices.

What is your ultimate beauty tip?

When cleansing and moisturising your skin ALWAYS spend time massaging in the products! They will not only work more effectively and efficiently for you but will also feed, nourish and plump the skin, tighten and tone the muscles and eradicate fluids and puffiness.

If you only had two minutes to do your make-up in the morning, what would be the regime?

Massage in a great moisturiser to awaken skin add SPF 30+. Dab on concealer where needed and apply a great bronzing powder to give instant healthy glow to skin. Add a layer of mascara to open up the eye area and moisten lips with a lip balm- Vaseline do a rose one with a hint of colour which will give lips a youthful plump dewy look
What new beauty trends can we expect in the New Year?

More and more to do with skin and muscle toning and lots more beauty gadgets, my fave! Also, look out for apple enzymes and stem cell ingredient SPF.

You've worked with some big celebrities, who would you say has the best skin?

Angelina Jolie and Cate Blanchett have amazingly velvety clear skin and for the most flawless dewy skin, it’s Kelly Rowland.

What's so special about your Lymphatic Drainage Body treatment?

It immediately tones and firms the muscle tissue but also eradicates water retention and puffiness, stimulating the lymphs to work more actively and helping to cleanse the system. It's invigorating, deep, toning and refreshing. Making you feel alive, de-stressed and more svelte.

You also personally designed tanning treatment - what's so special about this? What tips do you have for someone wanting to tan at home?

Tanning at home is far easier and more fun than it used to be, products deliver easy beautiful results. Make sure you have all tools ready, gloves; mitts are essential, products and wipes before you start.

Skin has to be prepped beforehand and hair removal done. The softer and more exfoliated the skin the better the end result and the longer the tan will last with less patches whilst fading.

Always use a mitt for application and I recommend St Tropez mousse as it's the easiest to apply, fastest to dry and absorbs fully leaving only a fine even beautiful glow.

Do hands feet and face last and use what's left on the mitt for these areas, go lightly and gently buff product into skin, no rubbing. If you are unsure or lacking confidence in application of self-tan then start by using a wash off product as this will give you the same colour and coverage without the commitment and if it goes wrong you simply wash off and start again, it's a great way of easing yourself into the self-tan range whilst building confidence on application.
