Louise Thompson looks beautiful in her holly dress

Louise Thompson may leave us green with envy with her relationship with Spencer Matthews and her beautiful looks, but it was her style that was turning her green last night.

To mark the start of the festive period, Louise Thompson from hit E4 show Made in Chelsea made a prickly entrance in her Christmas-inspired couture dress, created from over 5,000 fresh holly leaves.

The dress, designed and created by student fashion designer, Katherine Massey in conjunction with Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex certainly has the wow factor which made it the perfect outfit for Louise to showcase at a high profile celebrity Christmas party last night.

“I love to wear exclusive pieces that make me stand out from the crowd, especially around Christmas time when I am invited to so many parties, so when Lakeside offered me the chance to wear this amazing creation I jumped at the chance,” admits Louise.

Fashion comes at a price and although I can’t sit down in this dress and the holly leaves are pretty painful, there’s nothing worse than turning up and realising you’re wearing a similar dress to another party-goer. I have no chance of that happening in this holly dress. Knowing that there are no other dresses like this one out there makes it all the more special.”

Bath Spa University student fashion designer, Katherine Massey who created the dress for Lakeside explains how excited she was to find out Louise would be wearing the dress she had designed, “I love a creative brief and although challenging, making this dress out of real holly leaves (and hand-stitching 5,000 of them to the dress) was one of the best projects I’ve worked on. I was so pleased when Lakeside Shopping Centre decided to go ahead with my design and when I found out that Louise would also be wearing it to a celebrity party, it was a dream come true! I love Made in Chelsea and Louise is my favourite character – I think she has great style and being able to dress her in my one-of-a-kind holly dress was just amazing.”

The Christmas holly dress was created by Katherine Massey in conjunction with Lakeside to promote its Christmas ‘gifts’ to shoppers – a free Santa’s grotto, free parking for 13,000 cars and late opening until 11pm on weekdays in December.
