If it wasn't for Sex and the city, and more specifically Carrie Bradshaw, we wouldn't know our Manolo Blahniks from our Jimmy Choos and Manolo himself is quick to agree with this.

The man behind the designs has paid homage to Sarah Jessica Parker's character and the impact she and the programme have had on his career.

Manolo told Vogue.com: "I adore Ms. Parker. The character she played has had such a role in my career - I cannot help but regard both of them as muses!

"I adore cinema generally and a large chunk of my collections is inspired by it. It could be a character, a scene, or just the spirit of a movie. I watch them all night long."

Carrie Bradshaw and Manolo Blahnik's mutual appreciation - it's like a fashion love story!
