Colin Farrell has revealed that he was 'lucky' that 'he nor anyone else had died as a result of his "wild ways' on the set of Miami Vice.

The actor teamed up with Jamie Foxx for Michael Mann's big screen version of the hit TV show back in 2006.

But he has admitted that it was his behaviour on that movie that made him seek treatment in rehab.

Speaking to WENN the actor said: "I was always very functional, but that was the first film where there were a couple of days I missed because I was f**ked."

And the actor also admitted that his family weren't surprised that he finally ended up seeking help for his problems.

"I had issues way before I ever stepped into an acting class - my family were worried about me for years and years.

"The stuff I used to get up to, the way I used to drive and what I used to have in my system - I'm profoundly lucky that I got out unscathed and that I didn't kill anyone."

But the actor returned to the big screen earlier this year with the movie Ondine and Crazy Heart and has plenty in the pipeline for 2010.

He is all set to team up with Keira Knightley for London Boulevard before moving onto The Way Back with Mark Strong and Ed Harris.
