We are big fans of Mark Wahlberg here are FemaleFirst and he is set to return this September with his new film Deepwater Horizon. The brand new and rather dramatic poster for the film has arrived.

Deepwater Horizon

Deepwater Horizon

Deepwater Horizon sees Wahlberg reunite with filmmaker Peter Berg, with whom he first worked with on the terrific Lone Survivor back in 2014 and it is great to see them working together once again.

The movie is based on true events and an article written by David Barstow, David Rohde, and Stephanie Saul published in The New York Times. Matthew Michael Carnahan and Matthew Sand have teamed up to adapt the story into a screenplay.

Wahlberg is set to take on the central role of Mike Williams and is joined on the cast list by Dylan O'Brien, Kate Hudson, Kurt Russell, Ethan Suplee, John Malkovich, and Gina Rodriguez.

On April 20th, 2010, the world's largest man-made disaster occurred on the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico.

Directed by Peter Berg, this story honours the brave men and women whose heroism would save many on board, and change everyone's lives forever.

It has already been a busy and successful year for Wahlberg and he has a string of movies in the pipeline... Deepwater Horizon is set to be an edge of your seat watch and one of the Wahlberg movies that's not to be missed.

Deepwater Horizon is released in September.
