Colin Farrell says that the Warcraft script is 'really cool'.

The actor has been linked with the project for some time, and while Farrell says he has read the script and spent some time with director Duncan Jones, he has yet to reveal if he is on board.

Speaking to IGN the actor said: "I sat with Duncan for a while and read the script, loved the script, and he was as cool as can be. I don't know what's happening with the film. I don't know where they are in the process.

"The script was just really, really cool, and it's just a world that I never explored - and it's a really big and fantastical world.

"I can't imagine what he, being as visually gifted as he is, Duncan, and what he did on Moon with, like, a dime, I can't imagine what he'd do with this Warcraft."

Warcraft will see Jones return to the director's chair for the third movie in his directing career - he has already brought up Moon and Source Code.

Warcraft will be based on the popular game and will be the biggest movie of Jones' career to date.

The likes of Paula Patton and Paul Dano have also been linked to the film, but an official casting announcement is to be made.

Warcraft is set for a December 2015 release.
