Ben’s Brother

Ben’s Brother

As his new single is the epic Questions And Answers, we decided to get Ben’s Brother’s Jamie doing some Q&A’s of his own during his time at FemaleFirst, but instead of us asking the questions, it was you guys… so have a look below to see if Jamie answered your burning question.

Hi Jamie hope you are well.
What I want to know is, what kind of music inspires you or you are influenced by?
And how has your taste in music changed over time?

A : Hi Rose. I’m influenced by soul - whether it’s in rock music, dance, pop  or soul - anything with real feeling or that gets me.  I love the new Kings Of Leon record because it has all the elements you want - memorable and original melodies and real soul in the delivery. I started off listening to Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, The Stones, The Beatles, Bowie - and then got into Radiohead and various singer songwriters. So basically a bit of everything!

Hi Jamie

When are you guys coming back to Leeds? Saw you at Ruby Lounge recently but we'd love to have you back on our home ground!

Anyone out there not yet heard of this band need to get their heads looked at - they are awesome (and extremely cute!!).

A : Bless you Dee thanks for that! Yes - the Ruby Lounge was great - good crowd.
Well we should be back in Leeds at the end of the year. I went to University in Leeds so it’ll always be a special place for me

Hey Jamie,
You've worked with some big names on your latest album (Natalie Umbruglia, Joss Stone, Jason Mraz) who was your favourite to collaborate with? and is there anyone in particular that you'd love to work with next time round?

A : I’d say performing with Joss was the most memorable for me although working with all of them has been great. I am grateful to all of them for getting involved in this album - and it’s definitely a better record because of their involvement..
Listen out for news about further collaborations soon on our website though - we have news! Keep an eye on bensbrother.com

In a fight between a stoat and a goat - who would win?

A : The stoat - by a mile - it’s much quicker and meaner! As long as it avoided the hooves..

#5 by Claire Hanson - Yesterday 22:34

Hi!

I would like to ask Jamie from Ben's Brother what his favourite gig to date has been and if you're going to be doing any festivals this summer?

A : We’re playing V Festival on the 22nd August in Stafford, and the 23rd in Chelmsford! Come and say hello… and my favourite so far has to be the festival we played last summer in France to 35,000 people - who loved us and cheered and sang along. Priceless and unforgettable.

#6 by Dan - Yesterday 05:40

Hi Jamie,
If you weren't a musician what could you see yourself doing as an alternative career?

A : I’d be a fighter pilot or an astronaut or a brain surgeon
Oh hang on I’m not 6 any more…
Maybe a hi-court judge!!? Or a Female First website editor?
;)
