Kasabian

Kasabian have been nominated for eight NME Awards, while Jamie T and Royal Blood scored seven nods each.

The rockers lead the way for the annual ceremony with nods for Best British Band supported by Marshall Amplification, Best Live Band supported by Dead Crow Spirit Flavoured Beers, Best Album for '48:13', Best Track supported by Tito's Handmade Vodka and Dance Floor Filler for 'Eez-Eh', Best Music Film for 'Summer Solstace', Music Moment of The Year for their Glastonbury headline slot and Best Fan Community and are delighted with their haul of nominations.

They said in a statement: "2014 has been such an incredible year for us, and being nominated for eight NME Awards is a better Christmas present than getting Castle Greyskull in '86! Thanks very much!"

The group are closely followed by both Jamie T and Royal Blood, who scored seven nominations each.

Jamie T said: "I would like to say a thank you to all the fans for coming down to the shows and to the NME for the seven nominations. Thank you, see ya in the pit."

Royal Blood added: "This caps an incredible year for us, and we can't thank NME readers enough for these nominations. Incredible!"

Elsewhere, Taylor Swift and Russell Brand have been nominated for both Hero and Villain of the Year, with the 'Shake It Off' singer's former boyfriend Harry Styles up for the latter prize for the third year in a row.

The NME Awards with Austin, Texas takes place on February 18 at London's Brixton Academy.
