Marilyn Manson showed his vain side while performing at this year’s Download festival in Donnington Park, by inviting an entourage of make-up artists and stylists to attend to him after every song.

The shock rocker took to the stage at the music event in Derby, England on Saturday and stunned revellers with his bizarre outfit changes, including a supersized hat, and the star seemingly needed help to manage his outlandish costume - he had a team of four flunkeys on hand throughout the set to assist.

He made sure they earned their money too, buy repeatedly flinging his microphone across the stage which they had to run and recover, and knocking things over every time they had been picked up.

They finally got sick of his antics towards the end of the set when he launched his microphone into the crowd and the henchmen just shrugged as if to say ‘just leave it.’

Overall, Manson was one of the artists I was most looking forward to seeing over the course of the weekend, and I felt really let down by his set as he was more interested in acting up than actually giving a good performance. I feel sorry for the hundreds of fans who had crushed themselves at the front of the stage for a truly dire performance.
