Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent last weekend at their Anmer Hall mansion.

The royal couple - who have six-month-old son Prince George - decided to take a break from London life to pay a visit to their property in Norfolk to check out the progression of their renovation.

The pair are keen to divide their time between their Norfolk home, which is located on the Queen's Sandringham estate, and the Kensington Palace in London.

As well as checking up on the builders and the progression of their home, which comes with a swimming pool, a number of tennis courts, and a brand new conservatory adjoining the kitchen, the couple used the time away to relax.

A source told Vanity Fair: "They were there to relax and have some time out from London and see how the property is coming along."

Duchess Catherine - who was known as Kate Middleton before she married William in 2011 - has been busy looking for pretty antiques to fill their new home with, while the prince has been taking a keen interest in ensuring the property is protected from unwanted visitors.

The driveway up to the abode has been re-routed and trees have been planted to protect the royal family's privacy.

The house was expected to be finished at the end of last year, but the project overran and the trio are expected to move in imminently.
