Cottages 4 you are trialling a number of teenage friendly cottages for families with children of every age to have a memorable holiday- and for the right reasons!
The cottages are geared for families with children aged 11-17 and are officially Teenager approved given that they are in line with the results of focus groups held with children of this age.
The results revealed that 55% of 11-17 years old don’t believe their parents want to do the same things as them, with a huge 36% claiming that they thought their last holiday was boring. The sadder truth was that one in five children do not look forward to going away with the folks, girls were twice as likely to reveal this.
When asked what it was about holidays that made them better, having their own bedroom (80%) voted was high on their list of priorities as well as 45% who wanted a place to relax on their own. Another important factor for 68% of the children was to have interesting things things to do nearby. Top of the list, however was things to do in the accommodation in which they were staying (84%).
The new teenage approved range have all or a lot of the things rated as most important such as a swimming pool, a games room, Wi-Fi, outdoor space and satellite TV. Many of the places to stay also have added features such as a games console and outdoor areas in which they could sit out when the weather permitted, bike riding, playing football or facilities for a barbecue.
