Dermot O'Leary has said he'll never appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

'The X Factor' presenter has ruled out an appearance on the singing competition's rival programme as he doesn't see himself as a celebrity and prefers to be in a hosting role.

Quizzed how he'd respond to an invitation to appear on 'Strictly', he said: "I don't think it's that much of a dilemma. I'd just say no. When you're a Jet, you're a Jet. I don't think I'd ever do one of those kind of shows.

"I know I'm famous but I don't see myself as a celebrity. Don't get me wrong, I never say never to competing in something - a cooking show, maybe."

However, don't expect to see Dermot, 40, whipping up culinary treats on 'MasterChef'.

He added: "That whole 'journey' you go on [in 'MasterChef'] doesn't appeal to me."

The hunky TV star also revealed some of his favourite TV shows - when he has the time to watch them - include ITV's murder mystery drama 'Broadchurch'.

He said: "[I watch] 'Broadchurch', 'Gogglebox'. Our telly viewing at home is basically a fight for the sofa and getting the cats out of the way. Cats run our house."

While he's currently on a break from 'The X Factor', following the end of the 10th series in December, Dermot - who married his long-term partner Dee Koppang in 2012 - admits the show tends to dominate much of his workload each year.

He explained to the Metro newspaper: "We start in April. You can do things up until about June or July, then 'X Factor' becomes all-consuming. How I planned a wedding I'll never know."
