The 'Cheers' actress was the first star to enter the famous abode on Thursday (16.08.18) evening and it wasn't long before she was given a special task.

She was told by Big Brother: "You are the first to enter the house but BB has a much bigger role for you than First Lady. You will be the president and have special powers and privileges. The public will vote for one of your fellow housemates to be Vice President.

"To help them decide, you should ask questions as you meet each housemate this evening...

"You should not reveal you are president before BB's official announcement."

But the 67-year-old star didn't have to keep the news a secret for too long as Big Brother made an announcement as soon as all of the housemates had entered, ordering everyone to the garden to reveal the president's "private residence".

Following Kirstie into the house was former 'Coronation Street' star Ryan Thomas - who spoke frankly about his financial woes in his VT while being introduced to viewers - and the show ended with the public vote revealing he had been voted in as her deputy.

Ex-'TOWIE' star Dan Osborne was swiftly followed into the house by 'Love Island' star Gabby Allen, who her former boyfriend Marcel Somerville had claimed she'd had an affair with, which they had denied.

Inside the abode, they seemed pleased to see one another but didn't stop to chat for long as they were too busy mingling with their other new housemates.

Former 'Emmerdale' actress Roxanne Pallett admitted she expected her other housemates would find her "annoying".

Asked by host Emma Willis what sort of housemate she will be, she said: "Probably an annoying one because I give myself headaches, but I'm going to be me."

Though 13 stars entered the house tonight, psychic Sally Morgan claimed one will be making a swift exit from the show.

She predicted ahead of her own entry: "Someone's about to walk - very quickly."

The new intake of housemates for this year's 'Eye of the Storm'-themed series also included 'Human Ken Doll' Rodrigo Alves, footballer Jermaine Pennant, kidnapped model Chloe Ayling, Ben Jardine, who found fame on 'Married at First Sight', comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli, 'Bad Girls Club's Natalie Nunn, and disgraced banker Nick Leeson.
