Kris Marshall in Death in Paradise

Kris Marshall has said she'd consider getting back into the 'My Family' swing of things if a reunion was commissioned.

The 40-year-old actor - who played series regular Nick Harper on the sitcom between 2000 and 2005 - admitted he would return to the show, which was axed in 2011 after 11 series, should the opportunity present itself.

When asked if he was keen to star in the programme again, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Well a reunion episode ... yes, maybe, that could be a possibility.

"It's been so long for me, 2005 is when I left and that's a long time ago. Nine years. So I'll never say never."

Kris departed 'My Family' in 2005 when Nick moved out of the family home, but the 'Death in Paradise' star admits he would've liked a more dramatic exit for his character and even suggested the layabout be killed off.

He said: "When I actually left originally I wanted them to kill him. But they said, 'It's a sitcom so we're not going to kill him.'

"Then I had an idea that maybe he should just go up to the loft and look for something and never come back down. So I liked that idea.

"He's up there he's looking for something. In my mind I still think he's up in that loft. If there's a reunion then maybe he could just come down from the loft."

Kris is set to make his debut in crime comedy-drama 'Death in Paradise' on Tuesday January 14 at 9pm on BBC One.
