The 'Coronation Street' star's late baby boy died within moments of being born in February 2009, and she has candidly opened up about how difficult it was a decade on.

Writing in her exclusive column in this week's OK! Magazine, she said: "When I opened my eyes on the morning of his anniversary, I was inconsolable for a while.

"I was more emotional this year, maybe it's because it's been a decade. Some years I cope better but this year wasn't one of them."

However, Kym, 42, admitted that accompanying her own daughter pregnant Emilie, 21, to an antenatal appointment gave her some "comfort".

She added: "Emilie happened to have an antenatal appointment in the afternoon and she asked me to go along with her and hearing my grandson's heartbeat gave me a lot of comfort.

"In the evening we had family around and set off balloons in the garden at Archie's birth minute."

Meanwhile, the actress has admitted she was putting herself "into [her] own past" while shooting emotional 'Corrie' scenes after she and her ex-husband Jamie Lomas' son died just a few seconds after he was born 18 weeks prematurely.

In the ITV soap plot her character Michelle Connor lost her baby son Ruairi, who was stillborn, and Kym - who has daughter Polly, seven, with 'Hollyoaks' star Jamie, and children David, 23, and Emilie, 20, with former partner Dave Cunliffe - explained it was a tough period on the show.

She previously said: "When I did the storyline for 'Coronation Street', that's the closest I have come to being back in the room.

"ITV provided a counsellor, who gave me grounding exercises to do to bring me back to reality after I had been putting myself into my own past."
