Linda Nolan has argued people need to apologise to Catherine, Princess of Wales over the false theories about her health

The 42-year-old royal - who is married to Prince William and has Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and five-year-old Prince Louis with him - has been absent from public duties since January and announced on Friday (22.03.24) evening that she is battling a form of the disease.

Now, singer Linda, 65, - who is battling cancer herself - argued that those who had mocked the princess or theorised her whereabouts during her extensive absence from the public eye- like Kim Kardashian - must apologise to her after revealing she is "preventative chemotherapy" for the disease.

During an appearance on ITV's ‘Good Morning Britain’, she said: “Of course they should say sorry.

“But, you know, sorry is an easy word to say sometimes and they may be doing it because other people are doing it.

“They should never have even thought it in the first place, to put down lies and horrible words. Sorry doesn’t cut it sometimes.”

Catherine released a video message on Friday (22.03.24) where she revealed she was in the early stages of preventative chemotherapy following her visit to hospital for abdominal surgery in January.

Former 'Celebrity Big Brother' star Linda was initially diagnosed with stage-three breast cancer in 2005 before overcoming it a year later, but in 2017 she was told that she had a form of incurable secondary cancer, which spread to her hip in 2020, and then to her brain last year emphasised that the short video was “perfect” in showing others suffering from the disease that there are not alone.

She explained: “I thought it was perfect. I’m suffering myself and I listened, and I took everything in, and she’s so right for someone who has been diagnosed.

“Hope – you’ve got to have hope and people around you that love you.”

The Nolans singer - who lost her sister Bernie to breast cancer in 2013 - then reflected on the royal’s decision to disclose her cancer battle.

She said: “I think she did right. I think we all wondered what type of cancer it was. I think she did well, in the fact that she came out and told us when she didn’t have to.

“Who says they have to tell us their life story? They are doing their jobs.

“If she wants to keep it secret and her treatment secret, then that’s how she’s going to handle it and good luck to her.”

Hollywood actress Blake Lively, who joked about the photoshopped image of Catherine and her family, has since apologised to the Catherine.

Taking to Instagram, she said: "I'm sure no-one cares today but I feel like I have to acknowledge this. I made a silly post around the 'photoshop fails' frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today. I'm sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always."
