Lydia Bright thinks 'The Only Way Is Essex' will go on for "years and years".

Lydia Bright believe 'The Only Way is Essex' will go on for "years and years", despite a recent drop in ratings, but she thinks brining back some of the old cast will help revive it.

The star - who quit the show in 2012 to pursue a career in fashion - can't see the popular reality TV show ending any time soon, despite the recent departure of popular cast mates Lucy Mecklenburgh and Joey Essex.

The 22-year-old designer exclusively told BANG Showbiz at the Lydia Rose Bright and Lipstick Boutique SS14 preview event: "The ratings aren't as strong as they used to be, but it still gets amazing ratings. It will keep going because it still is the best rated show for ITV2, it won't be going anywhere soon.

"I reckon it'll be like 'The Hills', it went on for years and years and years because it's got such a big following. It's in 79 countries worldwide, it's massive in Australia, it's got crazy big."

Whilst audience numbers may still be up for the ITV2 series, Lydia believes the recent ratings slump is due to a lack of chemistry between new characters and they should bring old favourites like Lauren Goodger and Amy Childs.

She said: "I think they need to look into bringing some of the old characters back that people had that connection with or characters that relate some to the cast rather than bringing in random people that don't fit in well."

However, she doubts that ex-'TOWIE' lothario Mark Wright will ever return to the show now he's engaged to Michelle Keegan.

She said: " Mark's got such an amazing career now I don't think he'd ever come back. He's probably done the best out of everyone career-wise, he's sorted for life.

"Plus it's great for people that have got relationships in the show or single people, but probably not for Mark now he's engaged. There wouldn't be enough drama."

The Lydia Rose Bright SS14 collection launches at Lipstick Boutique in January 2014.
