Jessica Jones is the second of four live action adventure series from Marvel to premiere only on Netflix, and will take a look into the life of one of the most popular new Marvel characters of the past 10 years, as she faces both internal and external demons.

Rebuilding her personal life after a tragic ending to her short-lived stint as a superhero, Jessica Jones is working on a career as a detective who gets pulled into a series of exciting and unique cases in New York City.

With thirteen one-hour episodes, Marvel and Netflix will be hoping that the series follows in the successful footsteps of Daredevil, which was praised by the masses following its release earlier this year.

Next year will see the third original series - Luke Cage - come to the streaming service, with Marvel's Iron Fist completing the lineup at some point in the future. A second season of Daredevil will also be released next year.

Krysten Ritter takes on the titular role, with David Tennant, Mike Colter, Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty and Wil Traval also starring.
