Matt Willis has now signed the dotted line to appear in ITV's upcoming series of 'Birds of a Feather'.

Former member of Busted Matt is going to be playing the role of Tracy Stubbs' (Linda Robson) son Garthy in the series, which is to return 15 years after it previously ended on the BBC, and he can't wait to get started.

Matt - who previously appeared in medical drama 'Casualty' - said: "I used to watch 'Birds of a Feather' growing up so this is just a dream job.

"I can't believe I'll be working with Sharon, Tracey and Dorien."

Matt's on-screen younger brother Travis will be played by Charlie Quirke, the real-life son of Pauline Quirke, who plays Sharon Theodopolopodous in the popular series.

The classic sitcom centres around the lives of bickering sisters Sharon and Tracey (Linda), who moved in together after their husbands were sent to prison, and their man-eater pal Dorien Green, who is played by Lesley Joseph.

Charlie - who has been playing Travis in the 'Birds of a Feather' stage production - said: "For me, it's great to get this opportunity after playing Travis on the stage for the past two years. And it's great working with the two girls again -- and mum."

Filming for eight new episodes of the series - which originally aired from 1989 to 1998 - after original writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran penned scripts for the new series.
