The BBC has confirmed Ade Adepitan, Mel Giedroyc, Graham Norton, Chris Ramsey and Alex Scott will co-host this year's charity telethon, which will take place on Friday 19 November live from Media City UK in Salford for the first time ever.

Ed will put in a special performance on the night, and fellow singer Tom will perform 'By Your Side' with a little help from schools around the UK singing along via video wall.

The cast of the UK Tour of '9 to 5 The Musical' will also take to the stage for a performance, and in a 'Children in Need' first, a singer who has benefitted from support from the charity's funded projects will give an emotional solo.

Elsewhere, 'EastEnders' star Danny Dyer will host a special episode of his game show 'The Wall', which will see CBBC TV presenters Sam and Mark answering questions as they take on The Wall.

In a 'Repair Shop' special, Jay Blades and bear repair duo Amanda Middlemarch and Julie Tatchell will carry out a unique restoration for a young lad whose family have been supported by a 'Children in Need'-funded project.

BBC Sport presenter Mike Bushell, newsreader Kate Silverton and broadcaster and Radio 2 presenter Jason Mohammad will all take part in lip sync game show 'I Can See Your Voice', which is presented by Paddy McGuinness.

Celebrity Investigators Jimmy Carr, Alison Hammond and Amanda Holden will be helped by Pudsey as they try to work out who is the bad singer out of Mike, Kate and Jason.

Alex will co-host the telethon for a second time, and she can't wait to watch the musical acts do their thing.

When asked if she has a favourite part of the show each year, she said: "I have to say it's the music acts for me!

"I am a big music fan and I love watching the artists perform live and do their thing.

"I also of course love when the final total is announced because it's just such a memorable moment every year.

"I said last year how special it was for me personally, to be part of the show I remember watching every November as a little girl.

"If only little eight year-old Alex could see me now!

"So much work goes into this behind the scenes to produce what you see - a brilliant evening of fundraising and entertainment."
