The former 'O.C' actress appeared live in the 'Good Morning America' studio today (08.03.16) along with the other 11 competitors, who also include 'America's Next Top Model' winner Nyle DiMarco, as they were announced as the contestants for the 22nd series of the reality show.

Mischa told PEOPLE: "I know ['DWTS'] will push me to my limits, both emotionally and physically.

"You always learn something about yourself by doing that."

A flurry of American football players past and present are set to swap the field for the dance floor for the upcoming series, including recent Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, who clinched the accolade during the Denver Broncos' win over the Carolina Panthers in the spectacle last month.

Pittsburgh Steelers player Antonio Brown and former NFL quarterback Doug Flutie have also signed up for the show - which was won by the late Australian wildlife expert Steve Irwin's daughter Bindi and her professional partner Derek Hough last November - as has UFC fighter Paige VanZant.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta's star Kim Fields will no doubt be donning some sparkly outfits, as will Donald Trump's ex-wife, actress Marla Maples, while TV news personality Geraldo Rivera will be hoping to hit the headlines for some stunning performances.

Good Morning America's own Ginger Zee and 'Fuller House' star Jodie Sweetin, who were previously announced as competing on the show, complete the star-studded line-up.

The 22nd season of 'Dancing with the Stars' begins on March 21.
