As Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) gets more and more excited at the prospect of her first Christmas with John (Graeme Hawley), little does she know the dirty little secret going on under her nose. After a night of passion, Rosie’s (Helen Flanagan) dreams of a romantic escape are shattered when John is reluctant to indulge in a luxurious champagne breakfast with her the next morning as he scurries around trying to get ready, feeling guilty about Fiz. But Rosie revieals that she wants a real relationship with John and orders him to dump his girlfriend.Johns deception comes to light on Christmas Day as Fiz unwraps some sexy lingerie meant for a petite woman, who she instantly assumes is Sally. Storming over the road she thrusts the gift at a puzzled Sally claiming it’s proof she's having an affair with John. The two women begin throwing the underwear back and forth until Rosie arrives home clutching the pyjamas that were meant for Fiz, there’s an awful silence as it dawns on everyone who the sexy underwear was meant for.

Kevin (Michael Le Vell) is fuming and storms out of the house followed by Rosie and a devastated Fiz. When John appears, Kevin dismisses his excuses and instantly knocks him to the ground and continues to pummel him.

Bill (Peter Armitage) manages to pull Kevin off and Sally drags Rosie home, whilst a distraught Fiz leaves John lying on the ground and seeks comfort in Chesney (Sam Aston) and Kirk (Andrew Whyment). Back at the Websters', everyone’s in shock that the affair has been going on under their noses and are stunned when the police arrive to arrest Kevin for assault. Sally’s left alone amidst the debris of a ruined Christmas day, but it’s not just Christmas that’s been ruined. Will Kevin start the new year behind bars? And will Fiz ever forgive John? Rosie continues to act annoyingly blasé about her deception, leaving John taken aback and Sally furious that Rosie is unrepentant about all the trouble she's caused, but she Rosie pulls a trump card when she reveals that she knows Sally made a pass at John and threatens to tell Kevin.

Meanwhile, Fiz finally ventures into the flat and pours her heart out to Maria (Samia Smith) as the reality of the situation hits her. Whilst back in the classroom, Rosie is not pleased that John's given her a bad mark for her unfinished essay, and bribes him into bumping up her grade.

Over at the Platt household, no one believes David’s (Jack P Shepherd) assertion that Sarah (Tina O' Brien) set him up, and refuses to attend the family Christmas Eve gathering.

Sarah continues to work on Stephen (Todd Boyce), subtly dropping hints that she and Jason would love to move out of Weatherfield and she’s delighted when Stephen asks if Jason (Ryan Thomas) would be interested in taking the job that he offered David. Sarah jumps in to accept the job for herself and can’t hide her excitement about their exotic new life in Milan.

The Platts reel in shock after Sarah informs them that they are moving on Sunday. David’s anger overcomes him and he tears into Sarah accusing her of setting him up to steal his opportunity. As Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and Gail (Helen Worth) start to come to terms with the idea, Eileen notices that Jason doesn’t seem as keen as Sarah is and asks if this is what he really wants.

But on the morning of their departure for Italy Sarah’s gloating at her triumph over David and stuns Jason when she admits that she planted the drugs on him and she’s proud of it. Jason's horrified as he realises the move wasn’t about a new start for them, but about getting one up on David. Shocked at how devious she’s been, he tells her she's not the girl he fell in love with, and she’s just as bad as David and refuses to budge from the platform unless she comes back home with him. Gutted, a lone Jason arrives back on the street and reveals to a shocked Gail that David was telling the truth all along.

Over at the pub, Michelle (Kym Ryder) is distracted as she wonders whether Ryan (Ben Thompson) is her son or not. Unable to keep up her brave face any longer, she breaks down in Steve's (Simon Gregson) arms and decides that she needs to find a way to put an end to this Struggling with her nerves, Michelle tells Nick that she understands he’s upset but she won’t agree to the DNA tests.

Nick tries to convince Michelle that he’s been through hell coming to terms with the news but that the boys should know their true identity and reassures her that she’s not being disloyal to Ryan. Michelle can’t deny that she’s curious about Alex and hesitantly agrees to do a test after Christmas. However, once she’s alone with Steve she confesses she’s worried that this isn’t what’s best for Ryan.

It all kicks off at Liz’s (Beverley Callard) hen night as the women start to gossip about what good kissers their men are. Carla (Alison King) is still feeling jealous about Liam (Rob James-Collier) and Maria’s (Samia Smith) relationship and can’t resist confessing that Tony’s a better kisser than Liam, much to Maria’s horror.

But when Liam confronts Carla about why she told the whole pub about it, Carla acts blasé claiming that the kiss meant nothing to her but by his reaction it was obviously a big deal to him.

Over at Underworld, Carla confronts Tony (Gray O'Brien) about his ex's accusations that he's a veteran womaniser and a control freak. Meanwhile, in the pub, Liam seems slightly over concerned about Carla, and Maria's getting increasingly impatient as she struggles to get a word in edgeways to tell Liam about her pregnancy.

She tries her best to enjoy Christmas day for her son’s sake sake. However, Steve and Liam (Rob James-Collier) can see through her overly happy façade and although she claims she’s fine, she’s clearly suffering. Kim panics every time the phone rings despite Steve’s assurances that Ryan will love her whatever the test results say. There’s a new arrival on the street in the form of Lauren (Lucy Evans), Violet’s attractive and more outgoing sister. Lauren immediately settles into the Rovers and wastes no time in entertaining all the men with tales of her party lifestyle in Ibiza. Violet’s amazed when she arrives for a drink with Sean to see her sister, and Lauren’s equally amazed to see that Violet’s pregnant and Sean's the father.

At Roy's Rolls, Roy (David Neilson) has to face the festive season without Hayley and spends the day with Becky (Katherine Kelly), Kirk (Andrew Whyment) and Chesney (Sam Aston) who make a distatrous attempt at cooking Christmas dinner and turn Roy's Rolls into their very own winter wonderland.

In the Rovers, Vernon (Ian Reddington) is getting angry at the amount of time Jim (Charles Lawson) is spending around Liz. (Beverley Callard) Meanwhile, Jim has some food for thought when Steve lets it slip that Liz had an affair.

Elsewhere, Kirk (Andrew Whyment) is smitten with Becky (Katherine Kelly) after she gives him a Christmas kiss and starts hanging around the café.
