EastEnders last night went live for two short parts of its episode as part of its live week, in celebration of its 30th anniversary.

In its final moments, the episode saw Max Branning confront his daughter Abi about killing Lucy Beale, as the patriarch panicked his other daughter Lauren had found out and was to tell everybody about Abi's crime.

"She ain't coming back. You don't get it, do you? You don't understand. She knows you killed Lucy!" he shouted at his daughter, before the famous 'dun dun duns' were heard.

Though Abi looked panicked, would we really have been told this twist so early on in the week, or is there more surprises in store for viewers and the rest of Walford?

This certainly explains Max's shady behaviour in the past 10 months. If he believes his daughter had a hand in killing someone on the Square, it's no surprise he's done things such as destroying CCTV evidence to slow down the murder investigation.

But does Abi even know her father had these suspicions, or did he simply jump to conclusions? Perhaps Abi thinks she killed Lucy, but somebody else finished her off? Maybe Max's thoughts are wrong entirely and though he thinks his daughter's a killer, he's wrong?

Show bosses have previously stated that viewers would only discover the identity of Lucy's killer on Thursday night's hour-long episode, so we now have a little longer to wait for complete confirmation.

The episode also saw the return of Barbara Windsor as Peggy Mitchell, who's back on the Square to find out just why Nick Cotton is around.

Richard Blackwood also made his first appearance as the mysterious newcomer Vincent - just what role is he going to play in forthcoming episodes?
