Mickey makes a desperate phone call to Ned informing him of his and Kirsten’s whereabouts. Toadie, Ned and Janae discover that Kirsten is headed for Brisbane and make a dash for the bus station. Janae pleads with Kirsten to end this madness and Kirsten finally sees sense. She accepts that Ned and Janae can provide Mickey with the kind of stability that she presently cannot. At a teary farewell Ned and Janae ask Kirsten to consider moving to Erinsborough in the near future so that Mickey can have his mum near him all the time. Moved by their compassion for her, Kirsten vows to make this her goal. Miranda is dumbfounded by Bridget’s behaviour and at a loss to help her daughter. After a painful attempt to connect with Bridget, it’s Miranda who finally accepts much of the blame for her daughter's confusion. It’s Miranda's own expectations that have caused Bridget to hold on so fiercely to her tomboy persona. Miranda resolves to let Bridget be who she truly wants to be and mother and daughter are re-united. Carmella is determined that she and Oliver will at least be in each other’s company without too much tension. Determined to maintain her independence Carmella signs the lease on a rather dingy flat and Oliver is shocked that his child will live in such surroundings. Carmella accuses him of being a snob but he feels she’s going to extreme lengths just to be independent of his help and his money – and he fears for their baby.
