We’re glad to hear that Gerard Butler is feeling ok after his surfing accident. And more importantly, we’re happy that he hasn’t damaged any of his pretty face or body. It must have been a pretty bad accident as he ended up in hospital. It all happened on the set of his new film Of Men and Mavericks. We are told that he was knocked over by a wave – which doesn’t sound too great as he’s actually meant to be playing surfer in the film. He’ll have to get more used to those waves then! They were filming the scene in the Northern California Ocean when it happened. He was pushed off his feet by the power of the water. They rushed him to the hospital – all very dramatic, but he is now said to be all good again. A source said: "He's fine. Very scary. They brought him to Stanford University. More scary than anything. For precaution, we all wanted him checked out after it all happened. Came out with flying colours." So it does sound like it was quite scary. His character in the film is a big wave surfer who seeks to ride the infamous Northern California break called Mavericks. This of course explains the film’s title Of Men and Mavericks. It is due out in the autumn next year. Gerard is no stranger to getting hurt on film sets. He’s revealed before that he was accidently shot twice in the head while working on Machine Gun Preacher. He said: "A shell hit me, slit my head, it was pouring with blood. About 20 minutes later, we went again and another shell hit me! Within half an inch of the first one." Ow! Sounds painful! Although, it was worth it. A very good film!
