Yin replies

The fact that you have found the courage to write is admirable so you should be proud of yourself for being able to do this. The first thing I would urge you to do is call The Samaritans, they provide 24 hour help if you are feeling this way. You can talk to them about your feelings and they will listen for as long as you need.

If you are having trouble with your studies, have you spoken to your tutor? If the pace of the course or the work load is getting too much there are things you can do. Extra tutorials, part time study, deferring your studies. If you are not ready then take a break to get yourself back on track before think about studies and careers. You are taking on a lot and trying to deal with three things all at once, is hard for anyone. Look after yourself first, because if you don’t you will find that your studies and career will suffer as a consequence because your mind is elsewhere. Your university or college also offers counselling so you could pay them a visit to arrange an appointment. With the support of a counsellor and The Samaritans you will be able to express your emotions and talk about everything and anything until you feel better.

If you want to keep on studying, try making a list of things you need to do for your chosen subject, write them down in bite sized chunks so that you are not overwhelmed with deadlines and this will help put things into perspective and plan out your time to do them all.

Another thing I would advise is to go and see you doctor and see they might be able to prescribe you with something. It may be that you need something to calm you down or an anti-depressant just to help you through while you are receiving counselling. There are lots of options out there so don't let your studies and career define you or destroy you, when you have ethe help you need to will be able to look back and see that your health is far more important.
