TOWIE star Gemma is supporting this year's Shine event

Gemma Collins, from the hit reality show The Only Way is Essex, was spotted limbering up in Battersea Park in support of Cancer Research UK's Shine night-time marathon walking event.

She took inspiration from Olivia Newton-John's legendary 'Physical' music video in her 80's-inspired fitness outfit.

Against the backdrop of the iconic Battersea Power Station, from where the Shine London event will start, Gemma put her best fitness skills to the test to help encourage men and women from across the UK to take steps to beat cancer and sign up to start their training regime for Shine.

Gemma said: “Like most people, cancer is something that has affected my family - my granddad had throat cancer and died over ten years ago and it had a huge impact on all of us. That’s why I’m really happy to be supporting Cancer Research UK’s night time walking marathon, Shine.

"The events in London and Manchester are a great way to take to the streets with family and friends to help raise as much money as possible to beat cancer. Come on girls and guys, you can all do your bit! Sign up to an event now and get training for an experience of a lifetime.”

The Shine Manchester event is taking place on Saturday September 8 and Shine London on Saturday September 29; both events offer walkers full or half marathon routes.

Participants in Shine will have the unique opportunity to choose to have the funds they raise support research into one of twelve specific types of cancer including breast, lung and prostate cancer or all types of cancer.

Shine is aiming to recruit 15,000 men and women to help raise £3.5 million towards Cancer Research UK’s life saving research. The Shine London and Shine Manchester events are open to all men and women aged over 13. Sign up now at www.shinewalk.org
