We've been warned about them before, but now there is further evidence to suggest that super skinng jeans just aren't good for our health

Kate Moss and Russel Brand have been wearing them for years, and each time they step out they seem to get mroe skin tight - but at what cost of our health to we succumb to fashion?

A US doctor, Karen Boyle of the Greater Baltimore Medical Centre explains that thanks to the jeans we could end up suffering from Meralgra Paresthica.

This is caused by nerve damage which results in tingling, numbness and pain in the upper legs.

She told ABC News: "It's a disorder which occurs when one of the nerves that runs in the outer part of the thigh gets compressed."

She also explained that wearing heels with the jeans also increase chances of suffering because the posture we assume when wearing them tilts the pelvis and increases pressure.

Dr Karen Boyle advised that if you do suffer with any symptoms it's time to swtich your skinnies for leggins or jeans with added lycra stretch, otherwise you could end up with permanent damage.

Research has already indicated that if we wear jeans that are too tight there is an increased chance of developing thrush and it causes the testicles to overheat which lowers sperm count - especially not great for men who are trying to start a family.
