Have you been sipping on coconut water?

Coconut water is the must-have drink at the moment with people constantly raving about the benefits – but what exactly are they?

Coconut water is a favourite of celebs and we often spot Jennifer Aniston et al carrying them as they head to and from their workouts.

Why drink coconut water?

It contains high levels of potassium (more than a banana) and has naturally occurring electrolytes, along with the added benefits of having no fat or cholesterol and about half the calories you’d find in a fruit juice like apple or orange.

In fact coconut water is so biologically pure and such a good match with our own chemistry that during WW2 in the Pacific it was often used on American GI’s as an intravenous solution as its composition is almost identical to human blood plasma.

But which brand should you go for?

There’s a new coconut in the UK, and what’s more it’s raw.

Coconut water is currently the fastest growing soft drink in the UK and what makes UNOCO unique is that it is untouched – it is literally the pure water from the coconut poured into a bottle. Other companies such as VitaCoco pasteurise theirs and have to add hidden ingredients whilst doing so therefore removing some of the goodness.

What is UNOCO?

The UK’s first raw, living, bottled, pink coconut water sourced entirely from young green coconuts.

Why is UNOCO pink?

Because it’s raw, contains no additives and only comes from young green coconuts with their higher levels of natural phenols (a type of antioxidant) (mature coconut water has much lower levels of phenols and doesn’t turn pink) the phenols/antioxidants naturally oxidise and turn UNOCO pink after around 1 week in the bottle.

Is UNOCO pasteurised/heat-treated?

No, it’s a raw product

Does UNOCO contain any additives, artificial or otherwise?

No, it’s a completely natural, additive free product

Does UNOCO contain added sugar?

No.

Is UNOCO Gluten Free?

Yes.

Is UNOCO Vegan?

Yes.
