We have been celebrating some of the best posters of the decade, and today we have some great artwork from the thirties in the spotlight.

We take a look at some of the posters from the decade that we love.

- King Kong (1933)

King Kong is the most iconic monster movie of all time, and the 1933 film remains the most famous and popular.

Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack teamed up to direct and produce, while Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong and Bruce Cabot all star.

This poster - which shows King Kong at the top of the Empire State Building - was designed by Keye Luke.

This poster captured the most iconic moment from the film, and this image has gone on to endure over the years.

- The Bride Of Frankenstein (1935)

There were plenty of horror films that hit the big screen in the thirties, and The Bride of Frankenstein was just one of them.

When it comes to horror roles, Boris Karloff is one of the most famous actors, and he returned as Frankenstein in this new film.

And it is the title character who takes centre stage on this beautifully designed poster. Jack Pierce designed the makeup for the character on the film, and he really does look terrific in the artwork.

- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first feature animation film from Disney, and hit the big screen in 1937.

It is one of the most iconic film moments of all time, as it marked the real birth of animation film on the big screen.

Over the years, we have been treated to some wonderful Disney posters, but this is the first one that they ever released featuring all of the major characters.

- Bringing Up Baby (1938)

One of the best comedy films that hit the big screen in the thirties was Bringing Up Baby, as Howard Hawks returned to the director's chair.

The movie was based on the short story of the same name by Hagar Wilde, and saw Katherine Hepburn team up with Cary Grant.

This fabulous poster mixes an image of the film and sketches of Hepburn and Cary - this really is a terrific poster.

- The Wizard of Oz (1939)

Another iconic release of the thirties came in the form of The Wizard of Oz, which was released back in 1939.

The movie was an adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, and is a movie that has endured for over seventy years.

The Wizard of Oz remains the greatest role for Judy Garland, and she features on the artwork with scarecrow, tin man and the cowardly lion.

- Gone With The Wind (1939)

Gone With The Wind is widely regarded as one of the best movies of all time, and it closed out the thirties with a bang in 1939.

This sweeping epic is as loved today as it was when it was first released, as Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh make a terrific big screen couple.

There are a series of different poster for this film, but this one really does seem to capture the epic nature of the film.

Other great movie posters of this decade include The Mummy, All Quiet On The Western Front, and Dracula.
