Hey we’re Madina Lake! And today we have the rare privilege of taking over FemaleFirst - meaning we get to hang out, write some reviews and talk about our new record, Attics To Eden which came out on Monday!
Thanks for having us and sending in your fan questions; here are our answers, we hope you enjoy our interpretation of FemaleFirst!

Kellie, Cobra style - What would you do to ensure survival during a zombie apocalypse?
Mateo; I would stock myself up with juice, party supplies and chocolate to take the edge off and I’d just shoot at everything that moves.
Matt; I would find a cave somewhere in Peru that I know in fact exists. I would bring all my friends and a juke box and a bathing suit. I would just let it happen, I don’t like violence so I’d probably just let them garage me.
Dan; My goal in life is to learn how to sail, so I’d acquire the nicest boat I could find and sail away from them, I’m assuming they can’t swim. I’d find a nice little island somewhere and become friends with anyone else that’s there!
Nathan; I would probably get as many painkillers as I could find and not aim to survive at all!
Laura - Hey guys, thought id ask a question… if you had to live on chocolate bar for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Mateo; Toblerone. The regular one. That’s my favourite one.
Matt; Probably a Nestle crunch bar because of the terrain. If I had to ‘live on’ a chocolate bar, I’d want a comfy one.
Dan; Snickers, without a doubt, I know it’s old but it’s a classic. It’s the most fulfilling one.
Nathan; Between snickers or Caramello because there’s a little space inside where they nestle the caramel so I could sit in there and eat my way out at my leisure.
And if you were to be an animal, what would you be?
Mateo; I would be some kind of bird. Like an eagle or something like that.
Matt; Penguin!
Dan; Probably a hammerhead shark because it’s the most freakish looking animal with the eyes on the side. They have sensory organs in their nose too which lets them detect what’s on the bottom of the ocean, so having a whole new sense that I don’t have now would be pretty cool, plus they never stop swimming… I’d like to never rest, and live my whole life on the move.
Nathan; A dolphin because I think they’re quite smart and they’re the only mammals that can kick a sharks ass; that’s what I like about them!
Melissa//Busta - Hey guys! What's each of your favourite songs on Attics to Eden? Love you lots! -Busta
Mateo; Hi Busta, I actually know her, we’ve been friends for a long time! I love Legends because it’s very danceable and different for us and it’s fun for us to play. I also love Statistics because when we first wrote it I was kind of threatened by it and I’ve always heard that when you feel uncomfortable playing something it means your leaving your comfort zone.
Matt; Mine changes a lot, but I’d say at the moment, Let’s Get Out Of Here.
Dan; What’s up Busta! It rotates a lot for me as we play different things live, but at the moment for me it’s probably Legends./ it’s such a huge departure for us, I think if, when we finished the first album, someone had played us Legends, we would have been like; ‘No way is that us.’
Nathan; Mine is probably Criminals just because I really like the lyrical content, it’s a bit about revenge… and I’m not going to elaborate beyond that because I don’t want to ruin it!

Mateo; That is my biggest dream in the world! I was born and raised in Columbia and I would love to go there and see it all.
Matt; Yes, we would absolutely love to visit Latin America. Mateo claims he get’s recognised when he goes home, so we’d like to put that theory to the test!
