Dan Writing Up His Answers

Hey we’re Madina Lake! And today we have the rare privilege of taking over FemaleFirst - meaning we get to hang out, write some reviews and talk about our new record, Attics To Eden which came out on Monday!

Thanks for having us and sending in your fan questions; here are our answers, we hope you enjoy our interpretation of FemaleFirst!

Love Madina Lake! Xx

Preet Grewal - On your previous tour, when touring From Them, Through Us, To You, you guys used props such as the confetti filled balloons and the mask for a specific song. Is there going to be anything like that on the Attics To Eden tour? If so... what sort of things?

PS. Saw you 04th October 2007, you guys were immense. Your live show is awesome and also, it was honestly better than the Avenged Sevenfold live show. Kudos to you guys ;D

Mateo; I don’t know if I can say because it will ruin the surprise! But there will be a lot of fun stuff happening…

Matt; Alright! A7X! That’s good news. I had this idea of having the show taking the audience through the cycle of a day, but when I prices it up it cost $75,000 so we started out with just one of the cycles, and if we every get any more money it will go back into that!

Dan; Woah, thank you for the A7X comment! We would love to have fire balls and stuff, but it’s too expensive and the venues we play probably wouldn’t be down with it either! But we used some stuff on the first record and we’re probably going to use some new things on this tour too.

Nathan; Wow, thanks! We’re always trying to incorporate new things but sometimes it just takes us a little longer than other people. We’re actually in the process of building a really cool set, the only problem of being based in the US means that we can’t bring our whole set everywhere because it costs way too much, but as we get better we can add things in each territory.

Laura Seymour - Where do you guys get the names or ideas for your songs? Are they totally made up or are they based off something happening in your lives?

When Nathan writes lyrics it’s based on something very personal to him. Sometimes he’s inspired by books he reads or movies he watches. They’re 100% based on things that happen to Nathan or things that we’ve experienced in real life, nothing is made up.

When we’re jamming the music we come with fake titles so we know what song is what to remember what they refer to, then, when the song is finished, we will decide on a title.

For me [Nathan] I’d say it’s a bit of both, I think it’s important for every song to be lyrically honest and personal because I don’t think you can fake a connection, and for me, music is about connecting with the fans and providing an escape.

Ama Scott - After this tour, what are your plans for the future?

After this we’re going to do a month’s headliner in the states and then we’re going to do the whole Warped Tour for two and a half months. We’re also going to do the festival circuit… Rock AM Ring and things, we’re trying to get on reading and Leeds too it’s going to be a blast.

Keri-ann Read - Hey guys. First of all I just wanna say your absolutely AMAZING, anyway, my question is; What is the weirdest thing a fan has ever done to/for you?

Well this girl in the states once gave us a prosthetic leg to sign! She gave it to us and it was like; ‘Holy shit!’ she just took it right off! That was unique.

I [Nathan] don’t consider any of it weird, I consider it creative! They paint us pictures and write us poems which I find amazing. We’re so lucky and we’re grateful for everything we have.

If you can't see your question don't panic, because we had so many replies we had to spread it over fur pages, so check on;
