Exercise

Working out and keeping active has become a way of life for many people, and many more should be getting involved. But how do you like to exercise, on your own or with others?

New research from ZICO coconut water shows that men are more likely to exercise with friends or colleagues whilst women are more likely to exercise on their own or with a trainer.

Mark Anthony, celebrity personal trainer and ZICO ambassador, has commented: "It’s no surprise to me that women prefer to exercise with a personal trainer- a lot of my female clients say that it gives them an extra push and they are often more willing to learn and take on-board my advice."

It's not just the who either, it's the where too.

The study found that women put off exercising outdoors sue to fears for their personal safety, but for men it's more down to vanity as they are put off by the thought of getting sweaty in public.

Vanity aside, 57 per cent of women think that working out outdoors is more fun and a third admit that they would choose to head outside just to see the sun, compared to just a fifth of men.

The results also show that whilst running is the most popular sport amongst both sexes, women take part in more low-impact sports such as walking, swimming or cycling compared to men who are more likely to choose a game of football.

Overall, more niche sports such as yoga, parkour, skipping and frisbee were also named in the list of sports undertaken on a weekly basis.
