Maybe a new class could inspire your fitness regime?

Maybe a new class could inspire your fitness regime?

Whilst January might be the time for a new exercise routine for some, others don't hold the same sentiments.

In a survey of over two thousand people, British Military Fitness has revealed that 18 – 24 year olds have the least motivation to exercise in the New Year, and that 24% of everyone surveyed found the prospect of exercise too ‘boring’.

Perhaps this explains why so often fitness-based New Year’s Resolutions don’t make it past January. The survey found that over 40% of the so-called ‘Generation Y’ simply lacked the ‘personal motivation’ to exercise – over 10% more than those aged between 55 and 64.

Rob Love, Managing Director of British Military Fitness, commented: “We all know that a lot of fitness intentions get lost in the course of a normal year but these results suggest a number of really interesting, and alarming conclusions in particular the worrying levels of demotivation towards exercise amongst younger people.”

He continued: “The findings show that 15% of women find the prospect of exercising alone a significant impediment to exercise, and 15% of men often feel too unfit to even start. This demonstrates the value and importance of inclusive group fitness classes in keeping our nation healthy. There’s absolutely no reason why people should find exercise boring or lonely, and at BMF this certainly is NEVER the case.  We believe that everyone can and should participate in exercise that is rewarding, exhilarating and most definitely social!”

This January, BMF is so confident with its classes that they’ve launched a money back satisfaction guarantee…the first fitness provider to make such a claim.

Rob concludes: “What’s so great about our classes is that it’s not just the one instructor motivating you – it’s the whole team of BMFers spurring each other on.  What I find most inspiring about BMF is the fact that everyone has a different reason to keep coming back. Some love the exhilarating feeling exercising outdoors gives them as opposed to the gym, others love the social side of the classes and events we host, and some feel they are pushed to their limits each time they train. But, whatever the reason everyone is completely hooked!”
