A Great Cleavage Boosts Confidence
There are times when our confidence can be knocked because we feel we’re lacking in the boob department. Now, a new study has revealed that wearing a push-up bra can boost your confidence dramatically, so need no need to go under the knife!
The study found that there was a clear link between wearing a cleavage enhancing bra and a soar in confidence.
The study was commissioned by Gossard for its launch of the Super Egoboost bra, and undertaken by University of Manchester’s Professor Geoff Beattie, who has appeared on shows such as Big Brother as the resident TV Psychologist.
Professor Beattie took 60 participants and put them in various social situations and then analysed three key micro-behaviours linked to confidence, which were, smiling, eye contact and gaze aversion, and self-adaptors.
Smiling represents positive emotion and signals confidence, and Professor Beattie found that smiling increased by 73 per cent when participants of the study were wearing the bra.
Gaze aversion decreased by 41 per cent, meaning that confidence was growing as gaze aversion is something we do when we’re experiencing low confidence.
Self-adaptors are things such as wiping your forehead, stroking your chin or performing comforting hand movements, and all these decreased by 64 per cent when wearing the bra.
Professor Beattie says, “These results are very striking – the differences are much more pronounced than expected. It emphatically shows that wearing the cleavage-enhancing bra had a significant effect on non-verbal behaviours that are crucially associated with levels of self-confidence. And we know that confidence impacts on performance, both at work and in our personal lives.
“My hope is that this research might deter women from seeking more drastic solutions to improve their confidence, such as breast augmentation, because it proves for the first time that what women wear can positively affect their behaviour.”

“We hope this research will prevent more women from having unnecessary plastic surgery to enhance their breasts, especially in light of the recent PIP implant scares. It just shows that you don’t have to go under the knife to achieve confidence-boosting killer cleavage.”
It just goes to show, if you were considering surgery, all you really need is a super cleavage boosting bra!
