We’ve all had that excited feeling in the pit of our stomach at the beginning of new a relationship. But after the honeymoon period is over and the butterflies have faded, our other half’s annoying habits can start to niggle and we often doubt whether it actually has any potential. Yet despite our gut instincts it seems we still want to hold on, as a new report reveals that more than a third (34%) of us will persevere with a relationship well after we’ve realised we are with the wrong person.

While we all want to find that special someone, a lot of us in fact won’t mind settling with that not-quite-so-special-one in the meantime. Research by eHarmony.co.uk shows more than four in ten of us have gone out with someone we didn’t feel any spark or chemistry with. While a staggering third of us have dated someone who has made us unhappy.
