British ladies of a certain age say they would like more love; so long as it’s at the weekend.

In a survey by ReplensMD, 71 percent of respondents in their fifties said that they would like to have sex more often[i].
Perhaps inspired by role models such as Courtney Cox, Helen Mirren and Nigella Lawson who exude mature sexual confidence; 64 percent of the women said they routinely sleep naked[ii] and 58 percent make love more than once a week[iii].

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday definitely got the thumbs-down with Tuesday getting no votes at all

Quite surprising statistics for a country that is sometimes thought of as being quite coy between the sheets.

However the same ReplensMD survey also found that these ladies were quite choosy over which night of the week that they preferred to get intimate with their partners.

In a burst of Britishness it seems that ladies prefer to love at the weekend.

Surprisingly the overwhelming night of choice for romance is Sunday[iv] with a massive 42 percent of those in their fifties saying that this is their favoured night.  Saturday trailed behind with just 25 percent of the vote.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday definitely got the thumbs-down with Tuesday getting no votes at all.

Louise Jordan of ReplensMD said, “These results are a real eye-opener to the way that British attitudes to sex are changing.
“It used to be that when a woman reached menopausal age she was expected to just get on with it and forget about her sexual needs.
“Fortunately attitudes are shifting, perhaps encouraged by some fantastic high-profile role models, and more and more women are now taking control of their love-lives.

The survey showed that 100% of women in their fifties had tried lubricants compared to 48% of women under 50[v]. "As we know, vaginal dryness is a problem for many women when they reach the menopause and if left untreated it can affect their relationships[vi].
“It’s great to see that mature women feel so sexually liberated, albeit just at the weekend.”

ReplensMD is the UK’s number one longer-lasting vaginal moisturiser.  It is hormone-free and provides relief from the symptoms of vaginal atrophy, dryness, irritation, discomfort and painful intercourse for up to three days at a time, from just one application. eplens.co.uk
