Nia Vardalos turns 51 years old today so we have a look at her love life and it seems that she is a one man woman!
She married actor Ian Gomez back in 1993 on September 5th at the Winnipeg’s St Demetrios Orathadox Church.This was after he converted to Greek Orthadox, originating from Russian Jewish descent. Their story is very similar to that in My Big Fat Greek Wedding which Vardalos wrote and starred in.
The couple starred alongside each other in the film Connie and Carla and Vardolas made a guest appearance on The Drew Carey Show- Strange Bedfellows in 1997 playing her husbands on screen wife.
In 2008, they adopted their daughter Ilaria and consequently Vardalos wrote a piece for the The Huffington Post about her experiences of the adoption process.
