Mel Gibson celebrates his 58th birthday so we take a look back at who he has dated over the years.
He met Robyn Denise Moore in 1970 while filming Mad Max when they were both tenants in a house at Adelaide. She was working as a dental nurse and he was an unknown actor working for the South Australian Theatre Company. They got married don the 7th June 1980 in a Roman Catholic Church in Forestville, New South Wales.
They have one daughter and six sons together; Hannah, Edward, Christian, William, Louis, Milo and Thomas. They now have three Grandchildren as of 2011.
After being together for 26 years they finally separated on 29th July 2006. Gibson revealed in an interview that they planned to separate after he was arrested for drunken driving in Malibu.
They filed for divorce on 13th April 2009 due to irreconcilable differences and released a joint statement; "Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so.’ (Wikipedia)

The divorce papers came not long after he was seen in March 2009 with a Russian pianist on a beach.
The divorce settlement was one of the highest in Hollywood, as Moore walked away with $400,000,000.
In April 2009, Gibson made his first public appearance with Oksana Grigorieva. She gave birth to Gibson’s daughter Lucia in 2009 and then in April 2012 it was confirmed that they had split up.
