Easy comfort food

Logging off and leaving work at 5.10pm- Neither of you want to be held back on a Friday, you want to get out there as fast as you can so you can start enjoying the weekend with each other.

Choosing some wholesome 'comfort food'- Food that takes minimum preparation and you can throw in the oven or the microwave when you get home. Better still- take-out food that you just have to unload onto a plate when you set foot through the door. You always text your partner beforehand so the plates and cutlery are out ready.

Walking through the door at 6pm on the dot- You've no time for traffic jams or queues at your local take away- you want to get home at a reasonable hour.

Changing out of work clothes and into your onesie or pyjamas- Day clothes are not needed on a Friday night- just an outfit with some expansion for your food baby.

15 minutes spent checking social media channels- To make sure other couples are staying in too so you don't feel boring or dwell on the fact you have no money to go out.

Catching up on TV- Whether that's a boxset, stand-up comedy show or programmes you were too tired to stay up and watch on a school night. You both binge on them as much as you do the carbs.

Spending the evening alone- You pray that no-one visits unannounced and live in hope that no-one calls for a long conversation. You're both exhausted from being an adult all week and just want to slob out for a few hours like teenagers.
