A new option for dating is about to hit the UK but it comes with some strict requirements…participants must be fit (that is cardiovascular fit) and be single.
Fit guys and girls get together for a hot and sweaty workout where they must work together in teams to achieve physical challenges. At the end of it all, instead of a medal, they might just score themselves a date.
Fit2date is launching with 2hr workouts called Mega Meet training sessions this June in Chelmsford, Bedford and London, for more information check out www.fit2date.co.uk
It seems that mixing exercise and dating is proving a winning formula where it originated in Australia, fit2date now boasts 12 marriages and 4 babies. The founder of fit2date, Sydney girl Erica French never anticipated that she herself would find love. However, in early 2010 at her very own training group she met her beau and married him this Easter in Sydney.
French developed fit2date for busy single professionals who are time-starved to combine working out and socializing, “I wanted people to walk away feeling like they had done something good with their time – at the very least they walk away having done a really great workout. Best case scenario they meet the love of their life”.
Fit2date removes the iPods from the ears of the sporty set and adds a human element, “At fit2date what you see is what you get – girls don’t wear make-up (well maybe minimal) and guys get to do something they actually thrive at” says French. The exercises themselves are developed to engage the participants to work out how to win as a team which enables participants to have a reason to chat unlike the often awkward ‘dating’ questions when meeting someone for the first time. Fit2date is all about having fun and meeting like-minded people!
