As Orlando Bloom and Kendall Jenner's relationship blossoms- does the 17 year age gap pose a problem for them or their fellow daters?

Would you date someone much older than you?

Would you date someone much older than you?

MySingleFriend.com has looked into the opinions of men and when it comes to dating a much older or younger guy or gal.

The findings revealed that men are much more willing to date someone younger than women. Many men would date someone up to ten years younger than themselves, compared to women who would settle at no more than four.

British women seek out an older more mature man than a toy boy. If they were to be specific, women would rather date someone who is six years older than them. Men on the other hand would prefer only four years their senior despite the reputation of yearning for a cougar.

Brits become less preoccupied by age as they get older- in the over 55s category for instance- they would happily date someone who is 25 years younger.

Londoners are the most laid back when it comes to dating and age differences and would go 10 years either way if it meant finding the right person to settle down with. In Liverpool, singles would happily date someone who had a 25 year age difference, much like the over 55s.

Sarah Beeny, founder of MySingleFriend.com and TV personality commented:

"When it comes to dating, everyone seems to have their magic numbers - the age range they would consider dating. You even set your searches on dating sites based on age. However, I think we could all benefit from having a more relaxed attitude to age gaps. Sure, you want someone who is at a similar life stage to yourself, but many 25 year olds are more mature than some 45 year olds. So forget your dating 'rules' and you might surprise yourself by making a connection where you wouldn't expect."
