It was uncovered that most people will have two dates in a week so will admit their love after seven weeks after meeting someone.

A first kiss was voted to take two dates or one week and sleeping with someone takes four dates or two weeks.

Fashion student Liya Step, 22, who has been dating a 43-year-old millionaire on the site for the last nine months, said, “Obviously all relationships are different but these ‘first’ time figures look right for me and my girlfriends.

“None of us is going to jump into bed with a guy the first night we meet him. We may not even be ready to kiss him by then.”

“You can get to know a man fairly well after four dates. You know if you trust him and if you want to do something as intimate as having sex.”

Introducing a new partner to your friends is a pretty big deal, not only for you but for him too! All your friends will be judging him from the second he walks through the door so it’s important to get the timing right.

Most of those polled said that six dates or three weeks was a good time to introduce their new partner to friends.

The same goes for meeting the parents, it’s so important for them to like him as he could be their future son-in-law! The acceptable time to do the introductions was deemed 12 dates or six weeks.

Liya said, “Once you are confident that you have real chemistry, it is great to introduce him to your friends.

“You don't want to do this too early because your pals can, on occasion, feel threatened by a new boyfriend and fear that he is going to take their place in your affections so it is always good to wait until you know you really like guy before introducing him to your pals.

“I make it a rule that my parents only meet guys who I am deadly serious about - so that is going to take even longer!”

Moving in is a completely different situation altogether, it changes everything and so it’s important to be completely sure about someone before moving in with them. Brits say that 60 dates or 30 weeks is a good amount to have before moving in together.

However long you leave it, it’s always difficult to know when the time is right. Liya said, “We have a great relationship and said that we loved each other after around six weeks. It is always a tricky moment in the relationship. You don't want to say it first and it not be reciprocated so I tend to wait for guys to do it first.

“That can be a bit frustrating when you are girl because guys can be slow to show their emotions. You do want them to express their love for you and normally with a bit a subtle persuasion, guys will tell you that they love you if the relationship is going well.”
