Don't waste your money- get something they'll love and use!

A subscription box- So they can get little samples of their favourite things in the months to follow. A little treat every now and again- and even you don't know what's inside when it arrives.

A Netflix/Now TV Subscription- Rather than waiting for the awkward amount of a few pounds to come out of your joint account each month why not but an annual subscription? Your year's viewing is sorted and you can benefit from it too.

Cinema voucher/ annual pass- If you've ever stuck for a date night idea- there is bound to something you can agree on at the flicks. A cheap and cheerful date night option with popcorn- what more could you ask for?

A gym membership- If your partner would struggle to make the monthly payments but really wants to get fit- buy a year's membership so they can go till their heart's content- literally.

A course- If they've always wanted to learn how to cook, take better pictures or perfect their writing skills- then this will encourage them to get out there and try something new.

Their favourite treat in bulk- If they have a passion for pear drops, a craving for a certain chocolate or are a sucker for strawberry laces- buy them their favourite sweet in a large quantity. Something they can enjoy for much longer than the Christmas period- just make sure they don't eat them all at once!

A throw- If you have a partner who's always cold- get them a stylish throw for your sofa, they can snuggle up in it's cold and you don't have to waste money on turning up the heating.

A magazine subscription- Does you partner buy the same magazine every month? If so then whey not get them a year's worth and save them having to go out and get it? It will come straight to your door every month and save them a few pennies too!

A gift voucher- If your partner has a favourite shop- rather than buying them lots of things they will never use- channel all the money into a generous gift card. They can buy whatever they want and you don't have to endure the disappointed look they give you when you've made the wrong choice.
